A decade ago, on August 22 , Oasis took to the stage for the final time at Weston Park, Stafford. They had been touring on their most recent album Dig Out Your Soul, but their heart was no longer in it. Six days later, a show in Paris did not go ahead at the last minute due to a row between the brothers. A formal statement confirming the band was no more was quickly issued. Liam and Noel went their separate ways, and are now hugely successful as solo acts.

Formed in , the group originally included vocalist Liam Gallagher , guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs , bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan and drummer Tony McCarroll , although the quartet were soon joined by guitarist and second vocalist Noel Gallagher , older brother of Liam. Here is a worthy enough song to round off the top ten Oasis songs spot; its the second track off of their third record, Be Here Now. Beyond the saturnine chord progression and infectious hook are lyrics that make not a lick of sense. Every component is essential Oasis. Morning Glory is one of their darker songs. Morning Glory , and is arguably their heaviest song. It starts out with a helicopter sound effect before eviscerating you straight away with a riff so drowned out in distortion that every other bit of instrumentation is left incoherently in its dust. This song was written during the whole Grunge movement of the early nineties, and was a nice little slap in the face to the pessimistic outlook the movement reflected on. Live Forever was a song about being alive and being happy with what you had, instead of being miserable all the time. This was one of the few songs Liam Gallagher wrote by himself.
